Privacy policy

The short version. You choose which photos of your pet to add. We use them, and what you tell us about your pet, only to make your videos. Your photos and videos are private to your account. We use a few trusted services to do the work, including AI services that look at your photos to pick the best shots and write the captions. We don’t sell your information, show ads or track you. You can delete everything at any time from the app.
Who we are
ForeverPaws is an app operated by Timothy Calveley, an individual based in Bermuda (“ForeverPaws”, “we”, “us”). If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email [email protected].
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored securely in encrypted (hashed) form; we can’t see them.
About your pet
- Your pet’s name, species, breed and, if you add them, date of birth and days to celebrate (such as a birthday or Christmas).
- Your answers to a few questions about your pet’s personality, habits and favourite things.
Photos
- Only the photos you pick. The app uses the iPhone photo picker, so we never see the rest of your photo library.
- Before uploading, the app saves a smaller copy of each photo. We keep the date the photo was taken (to help tell your pet’s story in order); the copy we store doesn’t include the photo’s location.
- To make the videos, we create helper images from your photos: a depth map (for the 3D camera moves) and a cut-out of your pet with the background removed (for the pop-out effects). These are stored with your photos.
Your videos
- What you tell us when you make a video: the occasion, an optional story in your own words, the style and format you choose.
- The words for each video (captions, labels and titles), including any edits you make, and the finished video.
What we don’t collect
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don’t collect your location, contacts or device identifiers. The app asks only for access to the photos you choose; it doesn’t use your camera or microphone.
How we use it
- To run your account, including sending sign-up and password-reset codes.
- To make your videos: choosing the best photos, writing the words, creating the effects and putting the video together.
- To keep the service working: fixing problems and preventing misuse. Our servers keep short technical logs (for up to 14 days) that can include internal file names, but not your photos.
- To reply to you when you contact us.
We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the services below that help us run ForeverPaws.
AI and the services we use
ForeverPaws uses AI to make your videos. When you make a video, your photos and details are sent to the services below, only for that purpose. Photos are shared through private links that expire within two hours.

These services act on our behalf and may only use your information to provide their service to us. Anthropic does not use information sent through its business API to train its AI models. Earlier test versions of the app could also add a spoken voice to a video using ElevenLabs, which received only the lines to be spoken.
The first time you make a video, the app asks for your permission before any photos are sent to these AI services.
Where your information is stored
Your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you live elsewhere, this means your information is transferred to the US. We use providers with strong security and contractual commitments to protect it.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account, pets, photos and videos until you delete them or delete your account.
- Working files created while a video is being made are deleted once it’s finished, and in any case within 7 days.
- Technical logs are kept for up to 14 days.
- Our providers may keep limited records for a short time under their own policies (for example, for security or backups).
Your choices and rights
- Delete a photo or video at any time in the app. Deleting a photo also deletes the helper images made from it.
- Delete your account in the app (Account → Delete account). This permanently deletes your account, pets, photos, videos and everything made from them.
- See, correct or get a copy of your information, or ask us any question about it, by emailing [email protected]. We may need to confirm it’s you, for example by replying from the email address on your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under data protection law, such as Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act, the UK or EU GDPR, or US state laws. Contact us and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Sharing your videos
Your videos are private to your account. If you choose to share or save a video, the app hands it to your iPhone’s share options; what happens next is up to you and the app or person you share it with.
Security
Your photos and videos are kept in private storage that only your account can access. Connections are encrypted, and our services only get short-lived links to the files they need. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Children
ForeverPaws is for people aged 13 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we’ll also tell you in the app.
